Mesothelioma

This type of mesothelioma is not considered cancerous and it is called benign multicystic mesotheloma. It affects the peritoneum which is the lining protecting the organs in the abdominal cavity. The function of the peritoneum is to allow the organs to move smoothly. There are some symptoms caused by the disease such as weight loss, nausea, abdominal pain and bowel problems, however,  the disease can be asymptomatic making it very difficult to diagnose.
This kind of mesothelioma can also develop in the pleura, which is the lining surrounding the lungs. When the tumors become too big, they press the lungs and cause the patient to suffer from shortness of breath and chest pain.
To detect the disease a physical examination need to be performed. Some of the test used are chest x-rays, CT scan of abdomen and chest and in most cases biopsies of lung or abdomen are vital for diagnosis. after the disease is diagnosed, the patient has more chances to recover than people suffering form any other kind of mesothelioma.
Surgery is one of the treatments for benign multicystic mesothelioma but it is not possible to take out all the tumors. The effectiveness of the treatment varies according to how advance the tumors are when the disease is diagnosed.
It is widely known that all kinds of mesothelioma are produced by asbestos exposure. The long latency period that characterizes this disease makes it impossible to be diagnosed  before 40 or 50 years from exposure. Abestos Mesothelioma Settlement
